Classes

Mary Make & Do has partnered with Owl & Drum Fabric Shop to provide Tulsa with fun and friendly sewing instruction for over 10 years!

Mary teaches sewing and quilting classes, private lessons, and has Saturday studio hours for beginners and experienced sewists alike. She offers basics like learning to use the machine and small skill building projects, through more advanced sewing like quilting and garment making. All of this, along with support for folks who just want to add new options to their bag of sewing tricks, such as: drafting a pattern, binding a quilt, installing an invisible zipper, or learning to follow a garment pattern, and more. Mary teaches to the needs of each individual, so give her a shout for the help you’ve been hoping for!

Mary Make & Do Sewing Studio shares space with  Whitty Books! Whitty also carries a selection of precut Owl & Drum Fabrics, available to purchase in person Tuesday- Sunday. You'll find Mary in the back end of the shop, at 2306 East Admiral Boulevard in Tulsa in historic Kendall -Whittier Main Street. (You can park behind the building, in the lot shared with Circle Cinema, and enter through the bright green door). Follow Mary on Instagram to keep with the fun!

All classes are kept fairly small (5 or 6 people max) and they are either one time events or a series, like Intro to Quilting, which meets for 6 weeks. Private lessons can be for one or two people, or a small group. You can gather some friends for a Friday evening sewing party!

Whatever you’re sewing goals, Mary is here to hold your hand, cheer you on, tell you stories, and remind you to snip your threads like her Mother taught her ✂️
