Intro to Sewing with Knits: Leggings! Friday 3/8, 6-9pm
Learn how to sew with comfy knit fabric using your home sewing machine! No serger required.
Mary will teach you how to sew leggings for yourself, or for your kids. You will also learn to trace a pattern from ready-to-wear. Bonus pattern drafting lesson included!
Please be sure to bring a pair of leggings that fit well. It is also a good idea to check your stash for neutral colored All Purpose/Polyester thread, as it is best for sewing knits. We do have Cotton+Steel thread, and Jersey/Ballpoint needles available for purchase. If you have a walking foot, bring it! If not, you can borrow one from Mary.
Cost is $70, and includes fabric, tracing material for pattern, and elastic for the waistband. You can choose your fabric from Owl & Drum’s selection of modern knit fabric the evening of the class.
This class is for teen to adult students who have a basic understanding of machine sewing. We recommend our Absolute Beginner Sewing Class before signing up for Intro to knits.
A sewing machine is required. We have a limited number of machines to rent for $5. Just let us know when you sign up if you will be needing one.
Space is limited and reservations are necessary. Questions? Email Mary at email@example.com
