Copy of Absolute Beginner Sewing - Zoom Class - Friday 1/29, 6-9pm
Owl & Drum's Virtual Zoom Classes taught by Mary Make & Do!
Never sewn a stitch? And have no idea where to start? Or do you have a sewing machine, but don't know how to really use it? This class is where you can learn how to sew, or get reintroduced. You do not have to know anything. Seriously, not a thing! No experience required.
You will learn how to use a sewing machine, including threading the machine and bobbin, and what the heck all those little attachments are for. You will be introduced to basic sewing skills, tools and terminology, along with lots of tips and tricks. You will also learn to measure, cut and press fabric. Mary will walk you through all the steps to complete a cloth napkin - a fun project that gets you using your newfound skills, and you get enough fabric to complete a set of four, on your own, with your very own hands!
*THIS CLASS WILL TAKE PLACE VIRTUALLY ON ZOOM*
Price is $65, which includes modern fabric from Owl & Drum! You will choose your fabric from our website before the class and it will be shipped to you. Please take a look at our website, and send 3 choices to email@example.com.
A sewing machine is required for this class. The first part of the class is an in-depth introduction to the sewing machine, including how it works, and what you can do to avoid common problems and hiccups.
In addition to a Sewing Machine and your fabric, you will need:
- all purpose or cotton sewing machine thread
- an iron and ironing surface
- sewing gauge or small ruler
Mary is happy to help you with any questions or things like sourcing tools before class. Please feel free to email her with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
Space is limited and reservations are necessary. We recommend that you sign up asap to give us time to get you your fabric. Deadline for this class is Wednesday January 20th.
Ages: Adults & teens, minimum age 11.
